Every week brings a new video of a humanoid robot doing something impressive. Far fewer of them are doing a real job, for a real customer, on a real floor. This page keeps track of the ones that are. For each one we note who is running it, where, which robot it is, what it does all day, and what the company itself has said about how it is going.
We do not remove entries when a pilot ends. A pilot that ran its course tells you as much as one that is still running. And because we do not sell robots, every make is listed on the same terms. Figure's robots worked in the body shop, picking sheet-metal parts and placing them into fixtures for welding. The pilot ran on the live line from late 2024. Figure reported it as completed in 2025, after roughly a year. It remains the best-documented humanoid deployment in a car plant to date.
Mercedes-Benz, Berlin and Kecskemét
Apptronik Apollo · announced March 2024
Apollo robots collect parts, assemble them into kits and bring the kits to the assembly line, the kind of walking-and-carrying work that is hard to automate with fixed machinery. Mercedes expanded the pilot in 2025 and invested in Apptronik alongside it.

UBTech Walker S · announced February 2024
One of the first humanoids on a Chinese vehicle line. Walker S robots inspected quality and handled parts alongside the workers on the Zeekr 5G smart factory floor.
BYD, China
UBTech Walker S1 · announced October 2024
Parts handling and intralogistics in BYD plants. In 2025 UBTech reported the first orders for hundreds of units, which made this the largest announced humanoid rollout in manufacturing anywhere.

Agility Digit · announced June 2024
The first humanoid working under a robots-as-a-service contract in logistics, in a distribution center GXO runs for an apparel brand. Digit lifts totes off autonomous mobile robots and puts them on a conveyor, shift after shift. GXO pays for the robot's time rather than buying the robot.

The bearings and automotive-parts maker announced a pilot in its plants, with the stated intention of deploying Digit across its sites over the coming decade, and invested in Agility.
Amazon, Sumner, Washington

Amazon tested Digit at one of its research and development sites, moving empty totes so that they could be reused. Amazon has not announced a wider rollout since.

Figure published footage of its robots taking packages from a jumbled flow and placing them one by one on a sorter belt at a customer's site. The customer has not been named, which is why this entry stays vague.
What stands out
- Every job on this list is the same kind of job: pick something up here, put it down there. Fixtures, conveyors, racks, carts. Nobody has announced a humanoid assembling anything in production.
- Car plants and third-party logistics lead, because both have exactly that kind of work, a shortage of people willing to do it, and engineers on site who can host a pilot.
- The money is moving from buying robots to renting their time. The GXO deal is priced per hour worked, and most makers now offer something similar.
- A pilot that ends is not a failure. What matters to a buyer is whether the company publishes the rate and the uptime, and most still do not. Treat any deployment without numbers as a demo until proven otherwise.
